Known issues on the 2005 SRX. Three recalls are on federal record for this model year. The first covers the ignition system: weight on the key ring can move the key out of the run position, and if that happens during a crash the air bags may not deploy, increasing the risk of injury. The second covers the rear axle assembly, where a rear differential pinion seal that does not meet specification can develop a fluid leak; a resulting differential failure can cause loss of motive power and possibly loss of control. The third covers the rear suspension, where a toe link with an incorrect weld could separate, letting the affected rear wheel turn in or out and affecting vehicle control.
