Known issues on the 2003 Protege. Four recalls sit on federal record for this model year, and all four are exterior lighting campaigns on lamps sold as aftermarket replacement equipment for various passenger vehicles. Two cover combination corner and bumper lamp assemblies that do not contain the required amber side reflectors, 16,270 of them from Sabersport and 42,540 from Dope, Inc., the second recorded against exterior lighting: headlights; in both cases decreased lighting visibility may result in a vehicle crash. A third covers Alfaotto combination headlamps not equipped with those same amber side reflectors, where without the amber reflectors the vehicle will be poorly illuminated, possibly resulting in a vehicle crash without warning. The fourth covers Tradesonic combination lamps, where the lack of amber side reflectors in the lamps will decrease lighting visibility to other drivers and may possibly result in a vehicle crash.
