Known issues on the 2000 Jimmy. Four recalls apply here. Two describe the same fault in the multifunction switch, which can develop an open circuit and kill the stop lamps and rear hazard lamps, leaving following drivers with no warning that the truck is braking. Another covers ABS feed and crossover pipe nuts tightened without properly seating the flared ends, so a leak can develop and stopping distances grow. The fourth concerns belt buckle bases that were not correctly heat treated and may not carry crash loads. Of 228 owner complaints, 38 name the suspension and 30 the service brakes.
