1998 GMC Jimmy Service and Repair Manual

This factory service and repair manual for the 1998 GMC Jimmy covers five trims, from SL through SLE, SLS and SLT to the Envoy, in both the 4-door and 2-door sport utility bodies. Every one of them runs the 4.3L overhead-valve V6, naturally aspirated and gasoline-fueled. Known issues on the 1998 Jimmy. Two recalls stand on the federal record. One concerns a fatigue fracture in the right-hand rear axle brake pipe, which first shows as a slow fluid leak and a soft pedal and then, when the pipe lets go, as a dropped pedal and no rear braking. The other involves under-torqued attaching nuts on the right lower control arm; the bolt can loosen and break, separating the arm from the frame and costing the driver control.
