This factory service and repair manual for the 1995 GMC Jimmy spans five trims, with Base, SL, SLE, SLS and SLT all listed, in either the 4-door or the 2-door sport utility body. The engine is unchanged in kind across all of them: the 4.3L overhead-valve V6, naturally aspirated, on gasoline. Procedures, specifications, torque values, wiring diagrams and diagnostics are grouped by system, so a job on the fuel tank, the front suspension or the wiper circuit each has its own sequence to follow.

Known issues on the 1995 Jimmy. The federal record for this year lists eight recalls, and several come down to fasteners left loose. Upper ball joint nuts torqued too lightly can fail to seat in the steering knuckle, letting the stud loosen and fracture and taking steering control with it. A brake pedal pivot bolt that backs out of its weld nut can cost the driver braking altogether. Elsewhere, the prop shaft can rub through the inboard side of the fuel tank and leak. Owner complaints run to 620, with 254 on the service brakes, 80 on visibility and 65 on engine and engine cooling.
