1996 GMC Jimmy Service and Repair Manual

Known issues on the 1996 Jimmy. Eight recalls cover this year. An upper control arm ball joint can fail outright, which impairs or removes steering and can collapse the front suspension on that corner. Cracked solder joints on the wiper motor controller board leave the wipers working intermittently or not at all, a real problem in weather. Seat belt webbing on an outboard front position can separate in a frontal impact, leaving the occupant unrestrained in any secondary event.
