1999 GMC C1500 Service and Repair Manual
This factory service and repair manual for the 1999 GMC C1500 has just two engines to account for, the 5.0L and 5.7L overhead-valve V8s, both naturally aspirated and both running on gasoline. Against that, the body list is longer, taking in the two-door standard cab, the two-door extended cab and the three-door extended cab, in Sierra SL, Sierra SLE or Sierra SLT trim. The result is a book weighted toward chassis, body and electrical work, with the two engines sharing much of their service data.

Known issues on the 1999 C1500. Six owner complaints are logged with NHTSA for this model year. Three concern the service brakes, two the structure and one the fuel system. Brake work is the obvious priority, and the manual gives hydraulic bleeding, friction inspection and rotor and drum specifications with the torque values that go with them. Structural and body sections cover panel, mount and hardware service, while the fuel system is documented with pressure tests, delivery diagnostics and the wiring diagrams for the pump and sender circuits.
