Known issues on the 1985 C1500. One recall sits on the federal record for this model year, and it concerns replacement oil filters sold for these engines rather than anything built into the truck: the affected filters could seal inadequately and let engine oil escape, with a fire the possible result. A single owner complaint is logged with NHTSA, and it relates to tires. Both point toward routine service, so the lubrication chapter here matters most, with oil pressure specifications, pump and filter procedures and torque values, together with the wheel and tire figures listed for the chassis.

Consequence

Remedy
HONEYWELL WILL REPLACE THE AFFECTED OIL FILTERS FREE OF CHARGE. THE RECALL BEGAN DURING NOVEMBER 20
