Known issues on the 1997 Savana 2500. Two recalls attach to the 1997 van. The first involves aftermarket corner and bumper lamp assemblies made without the amber side reflectors the standard requires, leaving the van harder to see from the side after dark. The second covers passenger vans that develop fuel odors or leaks, which becomes a fire hazard once an ignition source is nearby. Owner complaints run to 51 for the model year, gathering around body structure, the service brakes and the fuel system.
