Known issues on the 1996 Corolla. Four recalls sit on the federal record for this model year, and every one of them covers aftermarket parts sold for the car rather than components fitted on the assembly line. Three concern exterior lighting. K2 Motor recalled aftermarket headlamps that were missing the amber side reflex reflector; without those reflectors, the lighting visibility may be affected. DOPE, Inc. recalled combination corner and bumper lamp assemblies sold as aftermarket equipment, where decreased lighting visibility may result in a vehicle crash, and SaberSport recalled the same style of corner and bumper lamp assemblies for the same consequence. The fourth is suspension: Ride Control recalled certain front strut mounts branded as Gabriel Ride Control or ArvinMeritor and sold as replacement equipment, because the absence of the weld can allow the strut to come out of its mounting position.
