Known issues on the 2010 Corolla. Twelve recalls are on federal record for this model year. Two of them cover the accelerator pedal: on one, the pedal may become hard to depress or slow to return to idle; on the other, a stuck open accelerator pedal may result in very high vehicle speeds and make it difficult to stop. Three cover the frontal air bags. On one, an inflator rupture may result in metal fragments striking the vehicle occupants; on another, an inflator explosion may result in sharp metal fragments striking the driver or other occupants; on the third, the front passenger seat occupant sensing system may be out of calibration. Another covers the hydraulic brake vacuum power assist, which could lead to an increase in vehicle stopping distance, and a crash could occur. One covers the roof and pillar structure, where a damaged A-pillar trim panel retention clip may allow the trim panel to come loose. One covers the power window devices and controls, where the sliding electrical contacts may not be protected by lubricant. The remaining four are label recalls. One is for failing to comply with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard No. 208, "Occupant Crash Protection," and two for failing to comply with Standard No. 110, "Tire Selection and Rims" — on one of those, a driver may overload a vehicle, which may increase the risk of a crash. On the fourth, an inaccurate label could lead to owners overloading their vehicles and tires. Toyota's own diagnostic and repair procedures for each of those systems are the ones written out here. Owners have filed 1,570 complaints against this model year, and 181 technical service bulletins have been issued for it.
