Everything in this 1994 Toyota Pickup factory service and repair manual is tied to the truck as Toyota built it that year, whether yours carries the 2.4L four (22RE) or the 3.0L V6 (3VZ-E), so the specifications and torque sequences you work to are the ones Toyota published for this pickup rather than figures carried over from an adjacent model year.

Known issues on the 1994 Pickup. Three recalls are on federal record for this model year, and two of them cover aftermarket exterior lighting. The first is on aftermarket headlamps sold for use on these vehicles that are missing the amber side reflex reflector and fail to conform; without the amber side reflex reflectors, the lighting visibility may be affected. The second is on combination corner and bumper lamp assemblies sold as aftermarket equipment for various passenger vehicles, which also fail to conform, and decreased lighting visibility may result in a vehicle crash. The third is a steering recall on the relay rod: it applies to certain pickup trucks and sport utility vehicles where the steering wheel is repeatedly turned under certain conditions in which high steering effort and power assist are required, and if the vehicle is continued to be operated in this condition, the relay rod may fracture. Owners have filed 110 complaints for the year, and Toyota has issued 7 technical service bulletins.
Whether you are checking the steering relay rod and linkage for play, tracing a lighting fault, or working a service interval on the four-cylinder or the V6, it holds you to Toyota's own procedure and the correct specification for this 1994 Pickup.
