Known issues on the 1991 Pickup. Two recalls are on federal record for this truck. The first covers exterior lighting, specifically the headlights: K2 Motor recalled 1,921 aftermarket headlamps of various models sold for use on these vehicles because the headlamps are missing the amber side reflex reflector, and without the amber side reflex reflectors the lighting visibility may be affected. The second covers the steering linkage relay rod: on certain pickup trucks and sport utility vehicles, the steering wheel may be repeatedly turned under conditions where high steering effort and power assist are required, and if the vehicle is continued to be operated in this condition, the relay rod may fracture. Owners have filed 37 complaints against the 1991 Pickup, and 9 technical service bulletins have been issued for it.
