1993 GMC C2500 Service and Repair Manual
This factory service and repair manual for the 1993 GMC C2500 documents Sierra, Sierra SLE and Sierra SLX trucks in three configurations, standard cab pickup, extended cab pickup and cab and chassis, with six engines between them. Known issues on the 1993 C2500. Fire is the thread running through both recall entries on this year's federal record. One covers replacement oil filters that may seal poorly and let engine oil escape; the other, transmission fluid forced out of the vent tube by unanticipated heat, which burns if it reaches a source of ignition. Owners have brought five complaints to NHTSA — two about the service brakes, one about engine and engine cooling, one about the seats. Filter sealing, transmission venting, brake hydraulics and seat hardware each have procedures, specifications and torque values in these sections.

THIS CONDITION MAY CAUSE INADEQUATE SEALING AND LOSS OF ENGINE OIL, POSSIBLY RESULTING IN A FIRE.
HONEYWELL WILL REPLACE THE AFFECTED OIL FILTERS FREE OF CHARGE. THE RECALL BEGAN DURING NOVEMBER 20
UNANTICIPATED HEAT IN THE TRANSMISSION CAN FORCE THE TRANSMISSION FLUID OUT OF THE VENT TUBE.
THE VENTED TRANSMISSION FLUID CAN CATCH FIRE IF EXPOSEDTO A SOURCE OF IGNITION.

WHEN THE BRAKES WERE APPLIED THEY RESISTED, RESULTING IN EXTENDED STOPPING DISTANCE, CAUSING THE VEHICLE TO COLLIDE INTO ANOTHER VEHICLE. THE DEALER HAS BEEN NOTIFIED. *AK
WHILE DRIVING AT 50 MPH THE CONSUMER NOTICED THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT HAD COME ON. THE ENGINE STALLED AND THE VEHICLE COASTED TO THE SHOULDER WERE COOLANT WAS DRIPPING FROM THE RADIATOR. SEVERAL MINUT
VEHICLE GOES EXTENDED DISTANCE AND SPINS ON WET PAVEMENT AND ICY ROADS RESPECTIVELY BECAUSE OF ABS FAILURE. YH
