Known issues on the 1990 LeBaron. Two recalls are listed for the 1990 LeBaron. On certain 1990 LeBaron vehicles with grey interiors, the air bag inflator may have been machined without the diffuser holes between its igniter and propellant chambers, so the bag would not deploy in a crash; the inflators were replaced. On certain others, the valve cover gasket could shift and leak engine oil in the engine bay, where it could catch fire. Of 70 complaints, 29 involve the power train and 11 the electrical system; 9 reported a crash, 4 an injury and 2 a fire. That points to the air bag system, the engine and the transmission, backed by procedures, specifications, torque values, wiring diagrams and diagnostics.
