This factory service and repair manual for the 1990 Chevrolet P30 has five engines to account for, among them a turbocharged 3.9L inline-four diesel standing beside the 6.2L diesel V8 and the 4.3L V6, 5.7L and 7.4L gasoline units. The chassis went out as a two-door van, as bare rails, and as a stripped motorhome chassis, in Base, Base Stripped and Step-Van Delivery form. Turbocharged and naturally aspirated engines call for different diagnostic paths, and the manual keeps them apart.

Known issues on the 1990 P30. The federal record holds three items against this chassis. Two of them are aftermarket filters that will not seal: an oil filter that lets the engine bleed away its oil, and a fuel filter whose connection can weep fuel that finds an ignition source. The third is a seat pedestal with an oversized slot in its center channel, leaving the mounting short of its loading requirement. Owner complaints number two, one on the wheels and one on the parking brake. Lubrication, fuel line, wheel and parking brake work are all specified here.
