1990 Chevrolet K1500 Service and Repair Manual
This factory service and repair manual for the 1990 Chevrolet K1500 is organized around four equipment levels and two cabs. Cheyenne, Scottsdale, Silverado and WT trucks are all covered, in two-door standard and two-door extended form, and the engine chapters run to four overhead-valve units: a 4.3L V6, 5.0L and 5.7L gasoline V8s and a 6.2L diesel V8, none of them force-fed. A technician reads the procedure that matches the truck on the lift rather than a general one, which is the point of a factory book.

Known issues on the 1990 K1500. The federal record holds three recalls for this model year. A replacement fuel filter can seal inadequately at its connection and let gasoline escape where an ignition source could find it. A replacement oil filter can seal just as poorly and let engine oil out, with fire the risk in both cases. The third concerns rear lap-shoulder belts supplied with incorrect adjustment instructions, leaving an occupant improperly restrained in a crash. Owners have logged eight complaints, three on the service brakes, two on wheels and one on steering, all systems with their own specifications and diagnostic charts here.
