The first covers the front steering knuckle and rear axle housing, which may have insufficient strength from improper heat-treatment and can deform on impact, leading to loss of steering control or wheel separation. The second covers the left and/or right-hand transverse link, which may not have been manufactured correctly and can separate from the ball joint, causing a loss of vehicle control. Consequence
Ball joint separation can cause a loss of vehicle control, and increase the risk of a crash.
