The 2019 Toyota Camry was sold with three separate powertrains — the 2.5L hybrid four (A25A-FXS), the 2.5L gas four (A25A-FKS) and the 3.5L V6 (2GR-FKS) — across eight trim levels, from the base L through the XSE and the three Hybrid grades. Torque values, clearances and diagnostic routines diverge sharply between the hybrid and the two conventional engines, so any job on this car starts with knowing exactly which powertrain is in front of you.

Known issues on the 2019 Camry. Six recalls are on federal record for this model year. Two are labeling actions from regional distributors: Southeast Toyota Distributors recalled cars equipped with factory-installed floor mats, where an incorrect label may lead to unintentionally overloading the vehicle, and Gulf States Toyota recalled cars carrying a label the driver cannot read, leaving the driver able to unknowingly overload the vehicle. Two cover the gasoline fuel pump — if the fuel pump fails, the engine can stall while driving, increasing the risk of a crash. A fifth covers the vacuum pump behind the hydraulic brake power assist: the vane cap inside the pump may break, causing the pump to fail, and a sudden loss of braking assist can increase the risk of a crash. The sixth covers the air bag occupant classification sensor, where the Occupant Classification System may have been improperly calibrated and the air bags may not deploy as designed for the front seat passenger in a crash. Owners have filed 532 complaints against the 2019 Camry, and 181 technical service bulletins have been issued for it.
That record maps onto ordinary shop work: chasing a stall back to the fuel pump, testing brake assist on a car whose vacuum pump has failed, or recalibrating the occupant classification sensor after the front seat has been out. Each is a job where the 2019 Camry's own procedure and specification — not a close-enough figure borrowed from a neighboring model year — decides whether the repair holds.
