2019 Nissan LEAF Service and Repair Manual
Built around the 2019 Nissan LEAF and its EM57 electric drive motor, this factory service and repair manual is tied to the exact year, powertrain and trim in your driveway, so the specifications and tightening sequences you work to are the ones Nissan released for this car rather than numbers carried over from an adjacent model year.

Known issues on the 2019 LEAF. Five recalls are on federal record for this model year. Two of them involve the rear view camera. On the first, the back-up camera and display settings can be adjusted so that the rear view image is no longer visible, and the system retains that setting the next time the vehicle is placed in reverse; the lack of an image in the back-up camera display increases the risk of a crash. On the second, damage to the camera harness can cause distortion or loss of the rearview camera display image, and a rearview camera that does not properly display an image can reduce the driver’s rear view, increasing the risk of a crash. A third covers the traction battery: on cars equipped with a Level 3 quick charging port, the lithium-ion battery may overheat during Level 3 charging, and a quick charging battery that overheats increases the risk of a fire. A fourth covers vehicle speed control, where the vehicle may accelerate unintentionally if the driving mode is changed (“D” to “B”; e-Pedal “On”; or “ECO” mode) after disengaging the cruise control, and unintentional acceleration can increase the risk of a crash. The fifth concerns the Owner’s Manual, whose defroster operating instructions are incorrect and may result in reduced defroster performance, which can limit visibility out of the windshield and increase the risk of a crash. Owners have submitted 253 complaints for the year, and no technical service bulletins are on record. The factory diagnostic and repair procedures behind each of those systems are here.
From a distorted rearview image to quick-charge behavior on the traction battery or a scheduled check on the EM57 drive unit, it keeps you on Nissan’s own procedure and the correct specification for this 2019 LEAF.
