Known issues on the 2017 Golf. Federal safety records carry 5 recalls naming the 2017 Golf. Frontal air bags on either side, or the head air bags, on certain 2017 Golf vehicles might not deploy correctly, and dealers replaced the affected bags. On certain 2017 Golf vehicles, rear axle coil springs could fracture early and damage a rear tire. Certain front-wheel-drive 2017 Golf vehicles also had a suction jet pump seal inside the tank that could let fuel migrate into the evaporative emissions system and leak. Fuel/propulsion leads the 116 owner complaints with 51, followed by the engine at 18 and the electrical system at 10; 3 complaints reported a crash and 5 an injury.
