Known issues on the 2017 Sprinter 2500. Six recalls apply to the 2017 Sprinter 2500, and two concern parts welded or bolted to the body. On certain vans, spot welds tying the door opening to the hinge reinforcements near the A-pillar might be missing, weakening the structure in a crash; dealers added the welds. Certain vans also had a spare tire holder underneath that might not be fastened tightly, letting the spare drop onto the road. On certain vans, power steering return hoses could detach at their connections and leak fluid, cutting steering assist.
