Known issues on the 2010 Sprinter 2500. NHTSA lists six recalls for the 2010 Sprinter 2500. Certain vans built from July 2010 to July 2014 received a driver frontal air bag inflator that could burst under excess internal pressure and throw metal fragments. On certain vans fitted with an emergency exit window, the adhesive joining the glass to its upper hinge could weaken and let the window fall. Certain vans made between November 2009 and March 2010 could crack the spring plate holding the oil filler neck, leaking oil into the engine bay. Air bags account for 4 of the 11 owner complaints; separately, 2 complaints filed against the 2010 Sprinter line cite service brakes, steering and suspension.
