Known issues on the 2014 Sedona. One recall stands on the federal record for this model year, and it concerns the secondary hood latch (NHTSA campaign 16V389000). Kia recalled model year 2006-2014 Sedona vehicles manufactured from June 15, 2005 through April 04, 2014, and the recall record describes the primary latch being inadvertently released while the secondary latch is not engaged. Owners have logged 54 complaints for the year, and Kia has issued 67 technical service bulletins.
From checking hood latch engagement to tracing a fault on the 3.5L V6 or working through a scheduled service, this manual keeps you on Kia's own procedure and the correct specification for your 2014 Sedona.
Kia Motors Corporation (Kia) is recalling certain model year 2006-2014 Kia Sedona vehicles manufactured from June 15, 2005, through April 04, 2014. In the affected vehicles, the secondary hood latch may bind and remain in the unlatched position when the hood is closed.
If the primary latch is inadvertently released and the secondary latch is not engaged, the hood could unexpectedly open while driving, increasing the risk of a vehicle crash.
Kia will notify owners and dealers will replace the secondary hood latch or clean and lubricate the latch, depending on the vehicle's location and the condition of the latch. These repairs will be performed free of charge. The recall began on July 27, 2016. Owners may contact Kia at 1-800-333-4542. Kia's recall number is SC134.

AT VARIOUS TIMES WHEN WE DEPRESS THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL THE ENGINE WILL NOT RESPOND. UNTIL WE TAP ON THE PEDAL SEVERAL TIMES THEN THE ENGINE RPM'S WILL ADVANCE. THIS CONDITION COULD CAUSE A SERIOUS CRASH OR EVEN DEATH AS WE NEVER KNOW WHEN THE VEHICLE WILL FAIL TO ACCELERATE. *TR
WE WERE TRAVELING FROM BLOOMSBURG, PA TO MYRTLE BEACH, SC ON DECEMBER 26, 2019 AND AS WE WERE PULLING OFF THE ROAD TO FIND A GAS STATION THE ENGINE TURNED OFF/STOPPED WORKING AND WE LOST THE POWER STEERING. LUCKILY MY HUSBAND WAS ABLE TO SAFELY PULL OFF THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND STOP IN A SAFE AREA. AT THAT TIME THE ENGINE SMOKED AND WE CHECKED ALL THE FLUIDS. THE OIL APPEARED TO BE LOW BUT NO INDICATOR LIGHTS CAME ON PRIOR. WE PROCEEDED TO GET OIL AND AFTER WE PUT IT IN AND TRIED TO DRIVE IT

TWO ISSUES: 1. Latch on rear hatch back 2. Buttons on ceiling for side doors became inoperative Problems started after my first recall, but these were sporadic, so it was easy to dismiss it because the dealer was cooperative and professional. But now, I noticed there are no recalls other than complaints about the same issues. I suspect that there is a "switch" or command in the program that reverses, but I don't have a clue, other than it is irritating that I have to wait for some upg

The sliding doors of the Van do not stay closed. We could be driving down the road when they open and the chime starts going off. We find this is commonly associated with the scenerios right after the auto-close mechanism closes the door. (This is another issue as it does not reliably close the door.) To resolve the door suddenly opening situation, we have to stop, put the vehicle in park, and usually end up having to have the driver or front passenger get out of the car, wait for the auto-clo

AND THEY WILL NOT LOCK WITH THE POWER BUTTON ON THE CONTROL PANEL, NOR WILL THEY LOCK WITH THE ELECTRONIC KEY FOB. THEY WILL HOWEVER, LOCK MANUALLY.
