Known issues on the 2014 Avenger. One recall is on the federal record for the 2014 Avenger. It covered certain 2014 Avenger vehicles in which the occupant restraint control module could short circuit, leaving the frontal air bags, side air bags and seat belt pretensioners unable to deploy in a crash and raising the risk of injury. Dealers are to replace the module. Owners submitted 205 complaints, grouped mostly under air bags (69), engine (42) and seat belts (39); 20 of them reported a crash, 3 a fire and 7 an injury.
