Known issues on the 2014 Corvette. Five recalls sit on this year's record. Rear shock absorbers with an improper weld can let the shock tubes separate from their clevis brackets, changing the car's handling suddenly. A sensing and diagnostic module can short internally and switch off both the air bags and the belt pretensioners, so neither acts in a crash. Optional sport seats did not meet the maker's own injury protection specification for an unbelted young child during a side air bag deployment. Complaints reach sixty-one, spread over fuel and propulsion, the power train and steering.
