This factory service and repair manual for the 2006 Chevrolet Corvette has two engines listed, and they are not variations on one another: a naturally aspirated 7.0-liter overhead-valve V8 of 427 cubic inches and a naturally aspirated 6.0-liter overhead-valve V8 of 364 cubic inches, split between Base and Z06 cars in hatchback and convertible bodies. Known issues on the 2006 Corvette. Two of the five recalls here describe roof panel adhesive that can separate from the frame, with a partial separation showing as symptoms the driver may notice and a complete one letting the panel come off the car entirely. A steering column built to tilt and telescope can suffer a signal interruption inside the column that changes how the car moves. A power steering hose built off specification can fracture under full-lock steering while braking, costing assist. Underhood housing expansion can also take the low beams out.
