Known issues on the 2013 LX 570. Two recalls are on federal record for this model year, and both are filed against the frontal air bag inflator module. The first covers the seat belt tension sensor wire harness, which may break over time and deactivate the front passenger air bag, the knee air bag and the passenger seat-mounted side air bag; in the event of a crash, deactivated air bags can increase the risk of injury. The second covers vehicles that may be equipped with an incorrect driver or front passenger air bag, which leaves them out of compliance with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard 208, Occupant Crash Protection; an incorrect driver or front passenger air bag may not deploy as intended in a crash, increasing the risk of injury. Owners have filed 8 complaints for the year, and no technical service bulletins have been issued. The diagnostic and repair procedures behind those restraint systems are here.
Whether the work is inspecting the seat belt tension sensor wire harness, verifying which front air bag is fitted or keeping the 5.7L V8 on its service schedule, it holds you to the OEM procedure and the correct specification for this 2013 LX 570.
