Known issues on the 2009 tC. Three recalls are on federal record for this model year, and all three concern vehicle labeling rather than a mechanical part. The first covers vehicles that were not equipped with load carrying capacity modification labels, and incorrect labels of that type could result in the vehicle being overloaded. The second, from Southeast Toyota, is a failure to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard No. 110, tire selection and rims, where a driver may overload a vehicle, which may increase the risk of a crash. The third, from Gulf States Toyota, is another failure to comply with that same standard, recorded as not meeting the standard requirements. Owners have filed 77 complaints for the year and 37 technical service bulletins have been issued for it.
