Fitment for this 2007 Scion tC service and repair manual is set by the year, engine and trim actually sitting in your driveway — the 2.4L four-cylinder (2AZ-FE), in whichever of the four Base and Spec builds you own — so each specification and torque sequence it gives is the one published for that exact combination rather than a figure carried over from an adjacent model year.

Known issues on the 2007 tC. Two recalls are on federal record for this model year, and both concern equipment labeling rather than a mechanical part. The first, from Southeast Toyota, covers certain model year 2005-2011 passenger vehicles that fail to comply with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard No. 110, "Tire Selection and Rims"; the consequence on record is that a driver may overload the vehicle, which may increase the risk of a crash. The second, from Gulf States Toyota, cites the same standard on certain model year 2005-2010 vehicles, where the labeling does not meet the standard's requirements. Owners have filed 140 complaints for the year and 40 technical service bulletins have been issued. The wheel, tire and vehicle-load specifications behind both notices, and the diagnostic and repair procedures behind the systems those complaints and bulletins deal with, are here.
Whether you are tracing a fault like the ones in those 140 complaints, checking a load rating before changing wheel and tire sizes, or working through a service interval on the 2AZ-FE, it holds you to the manufacturer procedure and the correct figure for this 2007 tC.

I am also one of them that just learned why my 2007 Scion TC is eating the oil. I love this car and wish I would have received the notice about the engine problems back when Toyota may have done something about it. I know that three difference dealerships have my contact info. I will continue to put in a quart of oil each week until that stops helping.
Ive been going thru a lot of oil lately and i dont understand why, i have a friend that owns the same car and told me he was going thru the same thing and took the car to toyota and turns out they had a recall about oil consumption so they ended up rebuilding his engine or replacing it. So im wondering if im going thru the same thing. I have to put oil in the car every 2 weeks

IF CABLE BREAKS WHILE DRIVING IT WILL BECOME AIRBORNE. THE HATCH PLATE HOOKS SNAPPED OFF WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY & I WAS OPENING THE HATCH. NOW THAT IT'S BROKE OFF THE CAR IT SWINGS WHILE DRIVING HANGING BY A CABLE. I HAVE TO KEEP IT TAPED.
