This factory service and repair manual for the 2008 Ford E-250 works through a lineup that never grew complicated: one Base trim, the 4.6L SOHC V8 and the 5.4L SOHC V8, and three bodies in the extended and standard three-door cargo vans and the two-door cutaway. Because the cutaway goes to a body builder before it earns a living, most of what a shop needs from this book is chassis-side, and the engine, transmission, axle, brake and electrical sections each carry their own procedures, specifications, torque values, wiring diagrams and diagnostics.

Known issues on the 2008 E-250. Eight recall campaigns sit against this year, seven of them raised by van converters rather than by Ford itself. One concerns a wheelchair lift whose positioning input cam can fail mid-cycle, leaving the platform stopped above the vehicle floor. Six more cover lifts from other converters with cracking platform side plates or bearings that have moved out of position. The last is Ford's recall of replacement fuel tanks that carry an extra sensor hole and can leak. Owners have logged six complaints with NHTSA, spread across tires, the engine and the fuel system.
