Eight recalls are on federal record for the 2005 model year, and only one comes from Ford: replacement fuel tanks with an extra sensor hole that could leak and, near an ignition source, start a fire. Aftermarket fuel filters whose quick connectors may not hold account for another, and the remaining six cover wheelchair lifts fitted by van converters. Owners have logged 11 complaints with NHTSA, clustering on air bags, steering and the fuel system. Fuel storage and delivery, steering linkage and restraint wiring are all covered by the manual's procedures, torque values and diagnostics.
