Known issues on the 2007 Mazda 6. Frontal air bag inflators on certain cars are the subject of three of the 4 recalls on the 2007 Mazda 6, and owners were told not to drive until the work was done. The three cover a passenger inflator whose propellant could degrade with long exposure to humidity and heat cycling and then explode; the same risk in certain cars already given a same-design passenger inflator by an earlier recall; and a driver's dual-stage inflator that moisture and manufacturing variability could cause to rupture. Alternate inflators are the fix. The 156 owner complaints include 95 about the air bags; 15 reported a crash and 1 a death. Air bag diagnostics and wiring diagrams are in the manual.
