Known issues on the 2005 Eclipse. The 2005 Eclipse has 2 recalls on record. One concerned certain 2005 Eclipse coupes: the bracket anchoring the left rear fuel tank strap could have cracked during stamping, and in a hard collision with a full tank it might break, letting the tank drop and leak fuel. Dealers inspected the bracket and reinforced it where the cracking was significant. The other involved certain 2005 Eclipse vehicles whose passenger sun visor, if folded down, could come loose during passenger front air bag deployment.
