Known issues on the 2005 SL600. Two recalls were recorded against wider lines rather than the SL600 itself. For certain 2005 SL-Class line vehicles, a deteriorating harness connection or a failing pump could push the Sensotronic Brake Control into its hydraulic backup too soon, so stopping took a firmer, longer pedal; dealers added a ground wire and bracket. Certain 2005 R230-chassis models equipped with Active Body Control had front strut sensors with faulty soldering that could leave the front suspension uneven. Two complaints name the 2005 SL600, touching air bags, electrical and service brakes; 1 complaint reported a crash and 1 reported an injury. One more against the 2005 SL-Class line cites speed control and air bags. Brake, suspension and restraint diagrams and diagnostics cover these.
