Known issues on the 1994 SL600. NHTSA filed one recall against the 1994 R129-chassis models, not the SL600 by name. On certain vehicles in that group, a headlamp wiper arm could slip out of alignment and trap its blade in the recess beneath the lamp; switching on the washers then kept the pump running until the reservoir was dry, and a pump running empty could overheat and start a fire. Dealers fitted a new washer pump. Four owner complaints name the 1994 SL600, mostly on the electrical system, with fuel system and engine cooling entries as well, while 16 more against the 1994 SL-Class line center on electrical faults.
