This factory service and repair manual for the 2005 Chevrolet Venture documents the van's final year, sold as an LS, LT or Plus on the four-door mini passenger van body with a single naturally aspirated 3.4L pushrod V6 of 207 cubic inches. By this point the design was long settled, and the manual reads that way: system-by-system procedures, torque values, wiring diagrams and diagnostic charts for a vehicle whose faults are more often wear and age than anything else, from the sliding door mechanism to the cooling system.

Known issues on the 2005 Venture. Three recalls attach to this year. One covers replacement steering knuckles that can break in the hub area and leave the driver without steering. Another concerns the power sliding door, where a passenger gripping the interior handle as the motor opens it can have an arm forced into the seat back or armrest. The third involves fuel pressure regulators built without an O-ring and retainer, which can leak fuel. Owners logged 42 complaints, split evenly between the fuel system and structure at eight each, with four on service brakes.
