Known issues on the 2002 Venture. Regulators list six recalls against this model year, and the worst of them are about parts coming apart. A driver's air bag inflator can fracture at a weld as it fires, so fragments can reach the occupants and the cushion never fills properly. A fuel tank inlet check valve can crack and let fuel gather against the tank, a fire risk near any ignition source. A passenger opening the power sliding door by its interior handle can have an arm pushed into the seat. Of 235 complaints, engine and cooling drew 41, service brakes 28 and the fuel system 20.
