Known issues on the 2001 Venture. Eight recalls appear on the federal record. Passenger air bag inflators built with the wrong charge of gas generant are the most serious: too much can burst the module and throw metal and plastic at the occupant, while too little leaves the bag unable to inflate. A fuel tank inlet check valve can fracture with heat or manufacturing variation and let fuel collect on the tank. A power sliding door can also open in motion. Complaints total 228, led by engine and cooling at 40, power train at 28 and structure at 21.
