This factory service and repair manual for the 2003 Chevrolet Venture treats a van whose paperwork is broad and whose hardware is not: six trims from Base to the Warner Bros. edition, one four-door mini passenger van body, and one naturally aspirated 3.4L overhead-valve V6 of 207 cubic inches. Everything mechanical in the book therefore points at that engine and the transaxle behind it, while the body sections take on the sliding doors, seating, lighting and interior wiring that vary from one trim to the next.

Known issues on the 2003 Venture. This year carries eight recalls. Two concern driver's air bag inflators: one can split at a weld during deployment, and another may both fail to deploy as intended and rupture, sending pieces into the cabin. A fuel tank inlet check valve can fracture and allow fuel to seep down the tank. Others cover the power sliding door and a child restraint anchorage explanation missing from the owner literature. Complaints reach 212, spread across exterior lighting at 27, the electrical system at 22 and engine and cooling at 21.
