Known issues on the 2002 9-3. Four recalls stand against the 2002 9-3. The steering recall covered 1,366 vehicles: certain cars may have left the factory with tie rod end nuts not tightened properly, which could let a nut back off and steering control be lost; the cars were inspected and corrected before delivery. Certain cars also had fuel pump tabs damaged in production, so the lines could loosen and leak, and certain cars with the four-cylinder engines named in the campaign could stall when a transistor in the ignition module overheated.
