Known issues on the 2002 Caravan. There are 3 recalls on the federal record for the 2002 Caravan. Certain vans could let air conditioning condensation drip onto the radio, where a short could push current into the rear speakers and start a fire. On certain vans equipped with the 3.3L V6, the upper power steering cooler hose could split and leak fluid that might ignite under the hood; dealers replaced the hose. A third, on certain vans, found the owner's manual did not identify which seats had child restraint anchorages. Owners filed 244 complaints, with air bags (59) and steering (36) most common; 13 complaints reported a crash, 11 a fire, 6 an injury and 1 a death.
