Known issues on the 1992 Caravan. Nine recalls touch the 1992 Caravan, and one found that in certain vans the left windshield wiper drive arm was not staked to its pivot shaft and could slip off, causing a loss of wiper function; dealers replaced the pivot. On certain passenger vans, the cover of the stalk-mounted belt buckle could shift and trap the release button, leaving the buckle only partly latched. Certain 1992 Caravan vans with antilock brakes could see seal wear in the hydraulic unit degrade the pump motor. Owners made 913 complaints: 261 about hydraulic brakes, 175 about seat belts, 110 about the power train; 49 reported a crash and 3 a death. Brake diagnostics and body procedures relate to these systems.
