Known issues on the 1999 Savana 3500. Two recalls are on the federal record for this model year, and both involve replacement service parts rather than the van as built. One covers fuel filters that seal poorly at the connection and can let fuel escape, which near an ignition source becomes a fire risk; the other covers oil filters with the same sealing weakness, where the loss is engine oil and the outcome is again fire. A single owner complaint is logged, on the electrical system. Correct sealing surfaces and torque figures for those service points are exactly what the manual specifies.
