Known issues on the 1998 Savana 3500. Two recalls sit on the federal record. The more serious one concerns front brake rotor and hub assemblies cast from out-of-specification gray iron, which can crack in service and, if driving continues, spread the crack around the wheel mounting bolt circle until the wheel separates. The other covers aftermarket corner and bumper lamps that lack the required amber side reflectors. Thirty-three owner complaints are logged, weighted toward the service brakes, the air bags and the electrical system, the three areas this manual's brake, restraint and wiring diagnostics are built to work through.
