1994 Volkswagen Golf Service and Repair Manual

Known issues on the 1994 Golf. Four recall campaigns are on record for the 1994 Golf. Bolts holding the front hood latch on certain 1994 Golf vehicles could work loose, allowing the latch to shift and release the striker so the hood might fly up and block the view ahead; dealers inspected the latch hardware and replaced it where needed. Certain 1994 Golf vehicles also had a passenger-side rear brake line that could rub through against the fuel tank. Owners submitted 41 complaints: electrical system 9, hydraulic service brakes 8, latches, locks and linkages 7. 4 complaints reported a fire and 1 reported a crash.
