1990 Ford E-250 Econoline Club Wagon Service and Repair Manual
This factory service and repair manual for the 1990 Ford E-250 Econoline Club Wagon covers one body, the standard passenger van, in Custom, XL and XLT trim. Four engines are on the list: the 5.8L OHV V8, the 7.3L OHV diesel V8, the 7.5L OHV V8 and the 4.9L OHV inline-six. Because the body and trim variation is narrow, most of this book's work is mechanical, and its procedures, specifications, torque values, wiring diagrams and diagnostics run through the engine, transmission, axles, brakes, steering, suspension and electrical systems.

Known issues on the 1990 E-250 Econoline Club Wagon. Two recalls stand on the federal record for this year. The dual fuel tank selector valve can malfunction and overfill one of the tanks, so fuel overflows past the filler cap. The transmission snap ring that locates the park gear may fracture, in which case park will not hold and the wagon can roll away with the parking brake off. Three owner complaints are logged with NHTSA, spread one apiece over the fuel system, engine cooling and speed control. Fuel storage, transmission and speed control coverage is all in this manual.
THE DUAL FUEL TANK SELECTOR VALVE MAY MALFUNCTION AND CAUSE AN OVERFILL CONDITION IN ONE OF THE FUEL TANKS, RESULTING IN AN OVERFLOW OF FUEL PAST THE FILLER CAP.
UNDER CERTAIN CONDITIONS, THE SNAP RING THAT LOCATES THE PARK GEAR ON THE OUTPUT SHAFT OF THE TRANSMISSION MAY FRACTURE.
FUEL SPILLS OUT FROM THE FRONT FUEL TANK. FORD REFUSED TO REPLACE THE DUAL TANK SELECTOR VALVE. NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER: 91V146000. *JB
