1984 Ford E-250 Econoline Club Wagon Service and Repair Manual
This factory service and repair manual for the 1984 Ford E-250 Econoline Club Wagon documents three trims, Base, XL and XLT, over the standard and extended passenger vans. Four engines are listed: the 5.8L OHV V8, the 7.5L OHV V8, the 6.9L OHV diesel V8 and the 4.9L OHV inline-six. That mix puts a 7.5L gasoline wagon and a diesel one in the same book, so the procedures, specifications, torque values, wiring diagrams and diagnostics are broken out by system and by engine rather than by trim level.

Known issues on the 1984 E-250 Econoline Club Wagon. Six recalls attach to the 1984 wagon. A carburetor secondary throttle shaft that can become contaminated and stick partly open is one. Wheels whose welds between the center section and the rim may crack from fatigue are another. Deteriorating heater and bypass hoses that can drop coolant onto a hot exhaust manifold make a third. Two owner complaints are logged with NHTSA, on tires and the suspension. Fuel system adjustment, wheel torque values, cooling service and suspension procedures are all documented here.
