The front seat belt buckle release buttons can break, and broken pieces falling into the buckle assembly can keep it from latching properly, leaving occupants without adequate protection in a crash. An improperly shaped floor mat can interfere with the accelerator pedal's release, creating a loss of accelerator control. Rear brake drums transported by train can suffer separation of the brake shoe from the wheel cylinder piston, which repeated brake use can turn into a damaged dust boot and water or dust contamination of the piston. Insufficient retention of the fuel tank fixing band lets it rub against the tank under vehicle vibration, which can wear a hole in the tank and cause fuel leakage. And below 0 degrees F, frost can accumulate inside the throttle body during extended constant-speed driving, keeping the throttle valve from returning smoothly.
