1987 Volkswagen Golf Service and Repair Manual

Known issues on the 1987 Golf. There are 3 recalls for the 1987 Golf. Certain 1987 Golf vehicles with alloy wheels may have had the left front lug nuts improperly torqued, so the wheel could loosen and come off; dealers checked and re-torqued them. Certain cars with a dual fuel pump system could have the pump seize in heat because its filter was too fine, and certain others risked a ruptured heater core end cap releasing hot coolant. Four complaints were lodged, one apiece for engine and engine cooling, the gasoline fuel system, seat belts and hydraulic service brakes.
